Abstract

Abstract Single crystals of the new compounds Cd 1.16 Zn 2.34 (AsO 4 ) 1.5 (HAsO 4 )(H 2 AsO 4 ) 0.5 (I) and Cd 0.74 Mg 2.76 (AsO 4 ) 1.5 (HAsO 4 )(H 2 AsO 4 ) 0.5 (II) are hydrothermally synthesized from aqueous mixtures of Cd(OH) 2 , 5ZnO·2CO 3 ·4H 2 O, and As 2 O 5 in a molar ratio of 1:1:1 for (I) and Cd(OH) 2 , MgO, and As 2 O 5 in a molar ratio of 1:2:1 for (II) (autoclave, 473—493 K, 72—96 h, <50% yield).
