Abstract

Carbon monoxide (CO) oxidation has been huge interest in recent years due to its importance in various fields. The applications of spinels catalysts for catalytic oxidation of CO are discussed in this review. Spinels with general formulation A2+B3+2O24 which crystallize, the oxide anions set in a cubic close-packed lattice and cations. The spinel catalysts are shows good performance in CO oxidation at low temperature. It is group of minerals with general formulation which crystallize in the cubic (isometric) crystal system, with the oxide anions arranged in a cubic close-packed lattice and cations. The performance of spinel catalysts mainly dependent on their morphology, size and properties of designed catalysts. It could be used as an ideal candidate not only for automobile industry through cross-coupling reactions but also for ambient temperature catalytic conversion of CO. There are lots of papers associated to CO oxidation over spinel catalysts have been available but no review papers appears in the literature that is dedicated to the CO oxidation.
