ChemInform Abstract: Electrochemical Production of Hydrogen and Sulfur by Low‐Temperature Decomposition of Hydrogen Sulfide in an Aqueous Alkaline Solution.

Abstract

Abstract The electrolysis is performed in a solution containing equimolar concentrations of NaOH and NaHS at 80 °C. In a double‐compartment cell with an ion‐selective Nafion membrane as separator, both crystalline elemental sulfur and high‐purity hydrogen gas are produced at high current efficiencies.
