Abstract

Strontium iridium oxide, Sr 4 IrO 6 , M r =638.7, rhombohedral, R3c, a=9.73439 (9), c=11.8920 (2) A (hexagonal setting), V=975.9 A 3 , Z=6, D x =6.52 g cm -3 . Rietveld refinement of time-of-flight neutron powder diffraction data in the range 3000-19300 μs [collected at 298 K, F(000)=417.8 fm, 1051 contributing reflections] resulted in R I =3.7%, R p =6.1%, R wp =3.5% and χ 2 0.99
