The 2008 financial crisis had an impact on the public finances of governments\nand the economies of their countries, which forced them to make changes\nin their fiscal policies in order to boost their financial and economic stability.\nThe objective of this research was to analyze the public accounts of the State\nof Colima and its economic growth, which would allow assessing the sustainability\nof its finances and identifying areas for improvement. In this study, the qualitative method with descriptive scope was used, through the use of\ninformation published by various government agencies and specialized journals.\nThis federal entity during the 2010-2016 period had a 90.9% dependence\non federal transfers and public debt, with only an income autonomy of 9.1%.\nIn this regard, it is necessary to implement a fiscal policy based on greater\nefficiency and quality, based on a flexible expenditure commensurate with its\nown tax capacity, which allows for lower indebtedness.
