Abstract

The urgency of the problem of rational pharmacotherapy of inflammatory diseases of the pharynx in children is due to the widespread prevalence of this pathology. Diagnosis of acute tonsillofaringitis in children involves differentiation into probable viral and bacterial (including β-hemolytic streptococcus group A) etiology with an appropriate antimicrobial therapy algorithm. Treatment for throat pain involves the need for a non-antibacterial drug that justifies patients' expectations for rapid pain relief. The use of a fixed combination of 3 mg of benzidamine hydrochloride and 1 mg of cetylpyridinium chloride, which is part of the Septolete Total, is effective and safe for pain relief, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic therapy of pharyngitis, mouth and gums in gingivitis and laryngitis in children and adults.
