Highly Sensitive Surface Plasmon Resonance Biosensor Using WSe2 and Silicon

Abstract

In this paper, highly sensitive surface plasmon resonance biosensor based on Kretschmann configuration is presented. Here we proposed six layer model of biosensor with silicon layer in addition with two dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) Tungsten Diselenide (WSe2). Sensitivity is the most important parameter to characterize a biosensor. It is observed that highest sensitivity 237.5 □RIU can be observed with seven layer of silicon and only one layer of WSe2.
