Dual Band Dual Circularly Polarized Patch Antenna with Small Frequency Ratio

Abstract

This paper describes the development and the experimental characterization of a circular polarized printed antenna for dual operation at 2.32 GHz and 2.58 GHz. The design is based on the gap-coupling mechanism applied to a disc patch antenna. The degeneration principle is the driver of the CP for the first mode, while the gap coupling strategy is used to create a pair of modes, which operate in the opposite direction with respect to first one.
