Review of Non-intrusive Load Appliance Monitoring

Abstract

Non-intrusive load appliance monitoring, an important part of energy management system, is the process of disaggregating household's total electricity consumption into its contributing appliances, which facilitates analyzing user's behavior, providing users with electricity usage detail list and providing data support for electricity company's electricity price policy making and client management. In this paper.the current research status of non-intrusive load disaggregation and monitoring both at home and abroad are reviewed in the following aspects:technical framework, data measurement and preprocessing, event detection.feature extraction, load identification. Finally, what need to be improved in recent research, and the future direction of research are analyzed.
