UIO Design and Sensor Fault Diagnosis of LPV Systems with Time Delay Using Descriptor Approach

Abstract

In this work, sensor fault diagnosis of linear parameter varying (LPV) systems with varying time-delay is considered. By using the descriptor approach which introduce the faults in the studied system having the property of auxiliary state, the estimation of sensor faults is achieved. For this purpose and in order to estimate both the system states and the faults an augmented system is created firstly and an unknown input observer (UIO) for delayed (LPV)systems is designed secondly. Then, we elaborate an algorithm to compute the observer gains. Sensor fault detection is based on the (UIO) approach for residual generation that is sensitive to faults. Finally, an (LPV) truck-trailer system with sensor faults is presented.
