Abstract

This paper presents the design of MerakiPlay, a Video-On-Demand application using Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH), taking as a reference statistical information on the behavior of online digital video consumers through Video on demand service platforms, based on global studies and especially characterized for the Latin American case. These services generate a high consumption of resources in telecommunication networks, making pertinent to carry out detailed studies that improve the end-user experience.
