Abstract

We demonstrate low-loss silicon-on-insulator devices for 2-μm or longer wavelengths. We achieve waveguide loss as low as ~0.18 dB/cm and further demonstrate high quality factor micro-ring resonator with intrinsic Q of ~0.56 million and free spectral range of 100 GHz.
