A circularly polarized reconfigurable dielectric resonator antenna

Abstract

We proposed a new fabrication design for a circular-polarization-reconfigurable liquid dielectric resonator antenna (DRA). In the design, a compact container is fabricated by 3D printer with four pipes. There are two hollow zones in the container: left and right zones with the only inlets and outlets through the pipes. The antenna can obtain circularly polarized reconfigurability by pumping the liquid solution between the two zones. For demonstration, the proposed design is fabricated and measured, and good agreement is achieved between the measurement and simulation. What's more, the new fabrication design can provide additional robustness for the liquid DRA.
