Fabrication of vertically aligned graphene sheets and their field emission properties

Abstract

In order to improve field emission properties, vertically aligned graphene sheets on few layer graphene which are parallel to the substrate were fabricated by surface wave microwave plasma CVD. The emission current saturation, which is usually observed in field emission properties of nano carbon materials, is not observed. Effects of n-type doping on field emission properties were investigated. Reduction of turn-on voltage was confirmed by K-doping. On the contrary, increase of turn-on voltage was observed for N-doped sample.
