Electrocatalytic Performance of Reduced Graphene Oxide Based Materials for Oxygen Reduction Reaction (ORR)

Abstract

This work presents a comparison study of different reduced graphene oxide based materials catalysts for ORR. We have synthesized nitrogen doped reduced graphene oxide (N-rGO), phosphorus doped reduced graphene oxide (P-rGO), phosphorus, nitrogen co-doped reduced graphene oxide (PN-rGO) and iron oxide and nitrogen co-doped reduced graphene oxide (Fe 3 O 4 /N-rGO). The prepared materials were characterized using XRD, FT-IR and TGA. Their results confirmed the formation of the catalysts. Moreover, Fe 3 O 4 /N-rGO showed the best electrocatalytic performance compared to the other reduced graphene oxide based catalysts; thus, it can be a potential catalyst for ORR technique in the future.
