Laser diode material processing system

Abstract

This paper is an overview of the capabilities of a 4000 Watt CW direct diode laser coupled to a Panasonic VR-16 robot and a summary of the reliability testing that Nuvonyx Inc. has performed on the system. This system is capable of meeting the requirements of a wide range of material processing applications including the welding of carbon steels, stainless steels, galvanneal steel, aluminum, titanium, laser cladding, heat treating and paint stripping.
