Multi-format Optical Transceivers for Terrestrial and Satellite-based Free-space Optical Communications

Abstract

We present rate- and format-flexible optical transceivers that can achieve near theoretical sensitivity with good power-efficiency, characteristics that are attractive for a wide variety of power- or bandwidth-constrained communications applications.
