The use of unmanned aerial vehicle or drone as a mapping and measurement tool has grown significantly in recent years, such that the potential for coastal engineering applications is beginning to be realized. The coastal engineering applications presented highlight the enormous potential of unmanned aerial vehicle technology to improve and potentially revolutionize the forthcoming of coastal zone monitoring. The objectives of this study was to determine the shoreline changes from the images taken by using unmanned aerial vehicle and to identify the shoreline changes by using Agisoft Photoscan and Global Mapper. Planning flight plans for unmanned aerial vehicle is necessary in this study. Based on the result, the shoreline changes during high tide are visibly clear as it erodes from August to November 2017. In four months of study duration, the shoreline changes were critically visible and may affect the coastal site in near future. Prevention must be made to ensure the safety of the people who lives in Pantai Punggur. Since the aim of this study was successfully achieved, drone can be proposed as an ideal alternative for the shoreline changes monitoring.
