Abstract

Pb 2 PdO 2 (OH) 2 is accessible from aqueous solution at mild conditions as a well defined, crystalline material. However, an earlier structural study resulted in an average structure model, leaving some discrepancies unresolved concerning different experimental diffraction techniques applied. At revisiting the structure determination, it turned out that obviously radiation damage had affected the powder diffractogram recorded using synchrotron radiation. The high precision crystal structure re‐determination presented [ a = 5.9455(7), b = 10.284(3), c = 7.9187(10) Å, β = 90.549(8)°; P 2 1 / c ; 935 independent intensities; R 1 = 0.0200] removes all inconsistencies.
