Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries: Heterogeneous/Homogeneous Mediators for High‐Energy‐Density Lithium–Sulfur Batteries: Progress and Prospects (Adv. Funct. Mater. 38/2018)

Abstract

In article number 1707536, Jia-Qi Huang and co-workers review homogeneous/heterogeneous mediators in Li-S chemistry and provide a mediator perspective on building high-energy-density Li-S batteries. The twin flowers represent the synergy of heterogeneous and homogeneous mediating strategies. Heterogeneous mediators take care of transformation kinetics and shuttle flooding, while homogeneous mediators regulate the reaction pathways. The combined efforts of both help realize practical high-energy-density Li-S batteries.
