$1\times 2$ Optical Switch Based on Nematic Liquid Crystal Core Waveguide

Abstract

We present fabrication and characterization of an electrically-controlled 1 × 2 optical switch, based on a Y-branch liquid crystal core waveguide, by a proper choice of applied voltage on the three electrodes corresponding to the input and two output ports.
