Wound Healing: Bioinspired Multifunctional Hybrid Hydrogel Promotes Wound Healing (Adv. Funct. Mater. 33/2018)

Abstract

In article number 1801386, Jianan Ren, Yuanjin Zhao, and co-workers report a bioinspired multifunctional hybrid hydrogel encapsulating vascular endothelial growth factor. Mixing of four-armed benzaldehyde-terminated polyethylene glycol and dodecyl-modified chitosan forms the gel. The hydrogel efficiently heals both acute and chronic wounds based on its outstanding self-healing, adhesion, hemostasis, anti-infective properties, and other wound-healing promoting capabilities.
