Device-to-device (D2D) communication integrated with cellular network is a key supplement that assists direct communication between two users in proximity to each other. The exploitation of D2D communication improves the data rate, spectrum utilization and reduces power consumption. This paper introduces an efficient method of resource sharing between D2D and cellular users (CUs) that enhances the throughput of the D2D link while preserving the quality of service (QOS) for CUs. The resource sharing problem in our case is a non-convex one, but is converted into a convex form by reformulating and optimizing the transmit power of both the users. We also emphasize on a low complexity resource sharing strategy, which shows better performance than the existing scheme. The performance of D2D communication is also verified using the outage probability analysis.
