A federated cloud computing framework for adaptive cyber defense and distributed computing

Abstract

In this paper, we present a federated cloud computing framework for cybersecurity and big data analytics needed for emerging services and applications. We present the system model with its building blocks. Furthermore, we present significant challenges that are solved by the proposed federated architecture for end users as well as some of the challenges the proposed model brings with its implementation. The proposed federated model presents several benefits for devices to use cloud computing with the help of edge, fog and cloud computing using their operating parameters such as quality-of-service, location proximity, delay requirements, security level of the computing units, etc. Some numerical results obtained from simulation are presented to evaluate our claims. We also compared the proposed model with the static model and found that the proposed framework outperforms the traditional single-level approaches.
