espanolLa ensenanza en los obispados peninsulares fue una materia recurrente durante la Edad Media. El Cisma de Avinon trajo consigo la necesidad de una profunda reforma en el seno de la Iglesia para mejorar la formacion del clero y, por consiguiente, la instruccion cristiana a los fieles a traves de la predicacion y el catecismo. La catedral se convirtio en el foco educativo y cultural del Obispado de Coria por la presencia de diferentes educadores en la escuela catedralicia, que ensenaban la doctrina cristiana y otros saberes a los estudiantes.
