Three new triterpenoid saponins from Albizia julibrissin

Abstract

Three new triterpenoid saponins, julibrosides A₅-A₇ (1-3), together with five known saponins (4-8), were isolated from the stem bark of Albizia julibrissin. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic data analysis of MS, 1D and 2D NMR, and chemical methods. Compounds 7 and 8 were isolated from the genus Albizia for the first time. The new compounds showed no cytotoxicity and anti-inflammatory activity.
