Some Practical Issues

Abstract

In earlier chapters it may have seemed that wavelets and multiresolution analysis were treated more as a collection of interesting mathematical ideas than as a powerful method for solving practical problems. In fact, much of the beauty of wavelet analysis lies in its widespread applications. This chapter will discuss important issues that arise in moving wavelets from theory to practice.
