Abstract

National systems and regional innovation systems seek to link supply and demand mechanisms through interface entities that allow relationships between R & D and the innovation process. Traditionally, the articulation function has been developed through the University- Enterprise-State triad, but a low performance in these institutions has been evidenced with respect to the requirements of the national systems.  Technology brokers are organizations and can sometimes be developed as functions within organizations, in which they connect each of the processes of innovation (beginning with R & D), and in the framework of an national system in crisis, such as the Colombian system, they play a predominant role in solving market and institutional asymmetries. Among the results obtained is a profile of the brokers in terms of their functions regarding the work done by different agents in the Valle de Aburra Metropolitan Area (AMVA).
