A Resource Allocation Scheme for SDN-Based 5G Ultra-Dense Heterogeneous Networks

Abstract

SDN (Software Defined Network) can significantly improve the intelligence and resource allocation capabilities in 5G ultra-dense heterogeneous networks. In this paper, we propose a power allocation scheme GAPSO-PA (Genetic Algorithm Particle Swarm Optimization-Power Allocation) based on GAPSO algorithm. As one of the swarm intelligence algorithms, GAPSO algorithm which combined both GA and PSO algorithms is effective to solve non-linear optimization problems through a fast global search at a low cost. The entire ultra-dense heterogeneous networks resource configuration is controlled by the SDN controller, it sends the optimized power distribution factor to the base station source node (SN) and the relay node (RN). Simulation results show that the proposed scheme reduces the system outage probability at a low complexity.
