In this paper, a method of cooperative localization is introduced in cellular networks with mobile users to effectively minimize the spoofing attack using a Kalman filter. With the introduction of cooperative localization, spoofing attacks would be easier on cellular network users, since transmitters are closer and easily accessible for manipulation. The effects of spoofing attacks on mobile users can be minimized by processing information from at least seven transmitting users. Additional use of Kalman filtering enables mobile users to improve their location estimation by more than 60%.
