A novel non-isolated high DC-DC voltage based on boost converter employing coupled inductor

Abstract

This paper proposes a novel non-isolated high-gain dc-dc converter based on boost converter using a coupled inductor. The main feature of the proposed converter, besides of the high gain, is achieve high efficiency employing an intermediary duty cycle value. The steady state operating steps as well as the static and dynamic model of the ideal dc-dc converter are presented. Closed loop simulation results employing a PI controller with 48V input voltage, 400V output voltage, 75 kHz switching frequency for an output power of 250 W are also presented. Systems requiring high voltage gain and high efficiency, such as photovoltaic and fuel-cell are the potential application of the proposal converter.
