Abstract

We present passive UHF RFID electro-textile tags integrated into two types of gloves for wearable RFID applications. The performance of the electro-textile glove-tags is evaluated on a male test subject and the results are compared to glove-tags with copper tape antennas. Based on the achieved results, the read ranges of the electro-textile tags are very close to those of the copper tape tags and tags on both types of gloves show attainable read ranges of 2.5-3 meters, when measured near the human body.
