Abstract

This letter investigates the downlink achievable rates of massive multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) enabled simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) systems. Since the transmission range of massive MIMO SWIPT systems is quite short, the transmission channels are generally of line-of-sight. Therefore, by assuming Rician fading channels, this letter theoretically derives the approximate expressions of harvested energy and achievable rate. In addition, the corresponding asymptotic expressions are presented for large number of transmit antennas case. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the accuracy of the derived expressions.
