Asynchronous fault diagnosis of Discrete Event Systems

Abstract

In this paper, a novel diagnoser is developed for diagnosing Discrete Event Systems (DESs) to detect, identify, and locate the occurred faults. In contrast to existing diagnosis techniques, the proposed diagnoser is capable of diagnosing faults that occur prior to and/or after the diagnoser's activation; thus allowing the diagnoser and the understudied system to be initialized asynchronously. Illustrative examples are provided to explain the construction of the proposed diagnoser.
