Agricultural waste based-coco peat and coconut shell activated carbon microwave absorber

Abstract

This paper investigate the ability of coco peat + coconut shell activated carbon to absorb the electromagnetic waves with pyramidal and double pyramidal structures. In this paper, the average reflection loss of each composition is shown table 1. Using compression testing machine, the strength of the material is also measured. The dielectric properties were calculated by using WR-90 waveguide connected with VNA. The maximum reflection loss of single pyramidal structure is -51.84 db respectively and the maximum reflection loss of double pyramidal structure is -64.55 db (8 to 12 GHz) respectively. Whereas, the maximum reflection loss of single pyramidal array is -60.08 db respectively and the maximum reflection loss of double pyramidal array is -60.76 db respectively. The simulation of these structures give the reflection loss of about -31.72 dB for single structural array and -44.95 dB for double pyramidal array at frequency between 0 to 20 GHz.
