The Effect of Cellulose Surface Treatment on the Fracture Toughness of Microfibrillated Cellulose Reinforced Unsaturated Polyester Composites

Abstract

본 연구에서는 불포화 폴리에스터 수지(UPR) 복합재의 보강재로서, 미세섬유상 셀룰로오스(MFC)를 allyltrimethoxy silane(VPS)으로 표면개질을 통하여 보강재와 기재간 계면접착력을 향상시켰다. 개질된 미세섬유상 셀룰로오스(VPS-MFC)는 FTIR, XPS 그리고 SEM/EDX를 이용하여 표면 개질반응을 확인하였다. 개질 전 미세섬유상 셀룰로오스를 첨가한 UPR 복합재를 대조군으로 제조하고 미세섬유상 셀룰로오스 함량에 따른 불포화 폴리에스터 수지의 기계적 물성과 파괴인성 변화를 고찰였다. VPS-MFC/UPR 복합재의 인장 및 충격특성은 개질 전 MFC/UPR 복합재보다 향상된 결과를 보여주었다. 또한 VPS-MFC/UPR 복합재의 임계응력 세기인자(KIC) 및 임계변형속도에너지(GIC) 값은 복합재 내에서 보강재와 기재간의 향상된 계면접착력을 의미하며 높은 파괴인성 특성을 보여주었다.
