Reliability-based cooperative spectrum sensing algorithm in cognitive radio networks

Abstract

In the cooperative spectrum sensing, it is not that the more cooperative sensing nodes are, the better the sensing performance is. How to select suitable sensing nodes to participate in fusion is a key problem in the cooperative spectrum sensing. This paper proposed a new cooperative spectrum sensing algorithm, in which the sensing nodes to participate in fusion is selected according to the reliability of sensing nodes. A new kind of detection probability and false alarm probability is introduced to evaluate the reliability of sensing node. In the fusion center, the global statistics of sensing results is obtained according to the weighted historical sensing information. Simulation results showed that the algorithm proposed has 2-4 dB advantage over the other three algorithms.
