Solid state quantum memory

Abstract

Quantum memory is the key element of quantum repeater, long distance quantum communication and quantum network. Usually, hot atoms, cold atoms, trapped single atom and Bose-Einstein Condensate can be used as quantum memory. From the year of 2008, solid state memory based on rare-earth ion doped crystal becomes one of the most promising quantum memories.
