Product innovative design based on AHP/QFD/TRIZ

Abstract

It is an important challenge for any company to win competition to meet continuously changing special requirements of actual and potential customers. However, customer requirements are always vague, ambiguous and conflicting in nature. In order to eliminate the conflicting requirements, and translate customer requirements into measurable technical requirements, a product innovative design model integrating AHP/QFD/TRIZ is proposed. A requirements capturing template is built to normalize customer requirements. AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) is used to determine the degree of importance of customer requirements. QFD has been used to translate customer requirements into technical design requirements. The relationship matrix of technical design requirements and TRIZ features is constructed to map technical problems into TRIZ general problems, and TRIZ conflicting resolving matrix is used to solve the conflicts made by the requirements mapping. A study case is used to illustrate the validation of this method. (5 pages)
