Inter-satellite link by lightwave

Abstract

Technological basis and requirement for inter-satellite optical communication links are described in connection with recent advancement in optical devices and components. The space demonstration programs in the world are reviewed, including the major results of the first ground-to-satellite laser communications experiment recently performed by the Communications Research Laboratory.
