Abstract

In this paper, we study the properties of one-dimensional Thue-Morse sequence aperiodic photonic crystal containing dispersive left-handed material with a transfer matrix method, we show that one-dimensional Thue-Morse sequence aperiodic photonic crystal can exhibit complete reflection for all incident angles and both polarizations. We found that zero-n macr gap exists in all the Thue-Morse levels, and it is rather stable and independence of the structure level, the zero-n macr gap is less sensitive to the incident angle and the polarization in contrast to the Bragg gap, these properties may provide us aspects for applications, such as omnidirectional reflector with a fixed bandwidth.
