Energy efficiency maximization based joint power and bandwidth allocation for heterogeneous network

Abstract

In future, the wireless network could apply different access technology and guarantee various QoS requirements of services. However, the spectrum resource and other resources are limited. The limited resources are requirements of services tough to meet. In addition, the energy consumption is an important problem with the explosive increase of the wireless terminals and nodes. Hence, a joint bandwidth and power allocation algorithm based on energy efficiency is proposed to solve the problem. The proposed algorithm transforms the joint allocation problem to optimization problem of energy efficiency by establishing the energy efficiency model and solves the optimization problem using clone immune algorithm. Numerical simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm can efficiently and reliably improve the energy efficiency of system and reduce the frame error rate.
