The authors began operating the Mobile Communication Integrated Operation System (MIGS) in 1992; this is an operation system capable of monitoring and controlling the status of various network facilities which constitute the mobile communication network and monitoring the status of services being provided on the network. In the present paper the authors present a new system, the "Mobile Transit Network Traffic Monitoring System", which performs monitoring and accumulating real time traffic data for transit lines among switches in the mobile communication network which incorporates functions to reflect those data in various business operations. System sharing with MIGS is strived for and the new system is positioned as a subsystem of MIGS. This system monitors various call processing signals running in the common channel signaling network to execute call connections among switches, and thus comprehends the line operating status among all switches by each line. Based on the accumulated data, the system calculates the traffic data of transit lines. The new system features are described.< >
