Design and Implementation of HPC-SA in OpenStack Cloud Platform

Abstract

Private cloud application with on-premise model offers benefits for security, reliability and high performance. However, not all SMBs and enterprises have enough resources to host an appliance or service. Private cloud application with off- premise model offers a different deployment option, it's called: Hosted Private Cloud. In this work, HPC-SA (Hosted Private Cloud Storage Application) for application service provider has been implemented by COSA (Cloud Object Storage Appliance) and OpenStack cloud platform. The implementation of Open- Stack cloud platform provides a well-defined infrastructure-as-a- service, virtual resources such as storage and, network, computer can be managed and monitored. The integration of COSA deploys as a stack template and provides file synchronization and sharing for SMB and enterprise. Unlike traditional appliance deliver model, the application service provider can easily deliver the service to SMB and enterprise customer by self-service subscription.
