Abstract

The properties of materials based on ground tire rubber (GTR) and GTR blends with virgin rubbers of different nature and isotactic polypropylene (PP) were studied. The effect of GTR particle size and vulcanization rate on the mechanical properties of the resulting compositions was analyzed. The recipes of the thermoplastic vulcanizates based on PP, butadiene-methylstyrene rubber (SBR), and GTR were developed. It was found that a PP/SBR/GTR composition vulcanized with sulfur-accelerating agents shows the maximum elongation.
