Abstract

Abstract Several imaging modalities have been used for image-based guidance in biopsy techniques, including X-ray fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound (US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and recently, positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT). The skill set for each of these techniques is varied. This chapter discusses simulation-based training (SBT) in image-guided biopsy techniques, which requires complete physical and cognitive task analysis for each technique. Subject matter (i.e., content) experts, educational specialists, and psychological professionals are necessary for the development of the procedural task analysis.
