Associative models applied to a Braille-Spanish/Spanish-Braille translator

Abstract

In this work, we present an algorithm that allows the translation Braille-Spanish/Spanish-Braille. The algorithm applies two tools for pattern recognition and translation of Braille code, such as Mathematical Morphology and Alpha-Beta Bidirectional Associative Memories, respectively. In the case of translation Spanish-Braille, we only used the Alpha-Beta BAM due to this task does not require image processing. The average of the effectivity in the recognition of Braille characters is 96.64% while in translation Spanish-Braille the algorithm showed the 100% of effectivity.
