Sorption of Palladium by Carbon Sorbents from Aqueous Solutions

Abstract

Carbon sorbents from aspen-wood charcoal, mixed birch wood and aspen wood wastes and Siberian larch bark have been produced by pyrolysis and air-steam activation. Results of study of palladium adsorption from aqueous hydrochloric solutions at a concentration of 50-1100 mg/l by obtained active carbons are presented. The degree of palladium isolation was 95-99 % at initial palladium concentration below 500 mg/l and consumption of sorbents 10 kg/m 3 .
