Single-phase to three-phase universal active power filter

Abstract

In this paper, an universal active power filter is conceived for harmonic and reactive power compensation in the single-phase to three-phase systems. A simple way to obtain the transfer functions of filter variables has been obtained, allowing new transfer functions to be easily obtained in case of structure changes. The steady state analysis allows to know the behavior of the fundamental component of currents and voltages, as well as the grid power factor. A suitable control strategy is presented to regulate the load voltage and to minimize the voltage harmonics simultaneously. Simulated and experimental results are presented.
