Feature Extraction of Power Quality Disturbances Using Modified S-Transform

Abstract

This paper presents a new approach of power quality disturbances feature extraction using modified S-transform. The time-frequency properties of power quality disturbances are analyzed and the effects of window-wide parameter on the properties are discussed. Two feature vectors which can reflect the time-frequency characteristics of power quality disturbances are defined. The simulations are made to illustrate the validity of the proposed features which have the prospect of power quality disturbances recognition.
